The
California Attorneys for Criminal Justice (CACJ)
and the California Public Defenders Association
(CPDA) sponsors an annual three and one-half day
seminar addressing the representation of clients
in capital (death penalty) litigation. Up until
several years ago, each year’s seminar materials
was reduced to multi-volume hard copy binders.
This yearly accumulation of materials created
storage problems and an inability to readily locate
key documents for later use by the seminar attendees.
For example, the materials included on the 2005
CDRom numbered well over 300 documents. Several
years ago CACJ and CPDA began placing the seminar
materials onto CDRoms which solved the storage
issue. The materials are categorized by the date
and time of the lecture session they were associated
with.

Enter
dtSearch … This year’s dtSearch
powered CDRom was received with resounding
approval by our seminar attendees …
Last, but not least, I have found the dtSearch
organization as a whole to be equally supportive.

"Attendees
requested CACJ & CPDA to develop a method
whereby specific documents could be located easily
and quickly for use in their law practices. Enter
dtSearch. dtSearch allowed the contents of the
seminar’s CDRom to be easily searched and
identified by keyword(s). This year’s dtSearch
powered CDRom was received with resounding approval
by our seminar attendees.
"The
process of setting up and indexing the documents
contained on the seminar CDRom was easy and straightforward.
It took about one hour to format, index, and burn
the seminar CDRom with dtSearch. I did run into
one end user related error in compiling the CDRom.
I contacted dtSearch’s technical support
by e-mail. dtSearch came to my aid within hours.
Last, but not least, I have found the dtSearch
organization as a whole to be equally supportive."
