"We picked the dtSearch Text Retrieval Engine for use both on our Web site and on our CDs because of dtSearch's flexibility and XML support," said Douglas Lee, IT Development Manager. "The dtSearch product allows us to do XML tag searches as well as full text searches in both mediums. We use the same dtSearch index file on the Web and on CD. Other features viewers appreciate are the ability to dynamically sort the results list by XML tags and the search speed. It is a very fast engine," Lee said.

CSA International programmed its CD-based application in Visual Basic and its Web-based application using Active Server Pages (ASP). The end-result was an application that users said was "friendly, fast, and well-designed." The Certified Product Listings application can be viewed at directories.csa-international.org.

Certification marks tell potential customers, regulators and users that a product has been evaluated by a formal process--involving examination, testing and follow-up inspection--and that it complies with applicable standards for safety and performance. CSA International offers a variety of flexible approaches for certification. In addition to providing product listings on CD and on the Web, CSA International sells information products through the On-line Store and offers seminars through the Learning Centre.
