"Our tools are a set of companion products for the market leading search engine product dtSearch," said Greg Bean, president, Cybergroup, describing Cybergroup's new dtSearch tools. "As developers of custom dtSearch applications, we decided to create products that complement the fine features of dtSearch."

Cybergroup recently released dtFileManager, a companion product for dtSearch. dtFileManager allows multiple people to upload files to the file system, and, at the same time, update the search index. Not only can you upload and manage the files but you may add additional keywords to be associated with each document in the dtSearch index. And, you may update your index on-the-fly, assuring that search results are always current.

"dtSearch does a fantastic job of indexing a vast repository of varied documents — from PDFs to MSWord documents," says Mr. Bean.  "But, how do you manage that vast repository of Web-based files? Who may upload documents? How, and how often, does the index get re-indexed after you've uploaded new documents? Do you have some document contributors using ftp and others using file system copying and therefore a resultant chaotic conglomeration of files?"
 
dtFileManager features easy multi-user file management, multiple levels of security. "You may manage your entire document repository from a password-protected website. And two levels of security are provided — one for administration and one for document contributors." dtFileManager also provides document keyword or metadata association upon document "check in" to the repository. "Sample uses of dtFileManager include: legal documents, scientific documents, product catalogs, and resume systems."
