The Storm image retrieval system includes fully scaleable concurrent access to databases and image volumes.  Other features include the ability to attach notes to documents; support for OCR text; and a navigational grid that allows user-defined groupings to form hierarchical structures to aid in navigation and document review.  .

StormX is an add-on for multiple popular litigation support systems.  StormX can extract a subset of images, metadata and associated text from these systems into a Storm database, where all of the powerful Storm features apply.  StormX not only allows users to easily distribute subsets of images as data, but also to migrate their litigation support databases.

For full-text searching within the Storm/StormX system, ICE chose the dtSearch Text Retrieval Engine.  "We chose dtSearch because of its ability to simultaneously query textual content and databases," said Jon Rowe, Executive Vice President of ICE.  "The result is an excellent tool for full-text retrieval, and searching our backend database."
