We
evaluated several options, and the consistent
feedback from the law firms, forensics consultants
and general counsels we spoke with was that
dtSearch was the best tool for the job.

“Today, complex litigation requires
attorneys to effectively manage hundreds of gigabytes
or even terabytes of data in a single matter. Traditional paper or
‘ePaper’ approaches to electronic
discovery are no longer practical or efficient.”

Attenex Patterns enables reviewers to quickly
identify the critical portion of relevant documents.
"Typically, at the end of the electronic
discovery process, no more than 5% of all of the
documents initially identified for review are
determined to be relevant. Getting through the other 95% as quickly
and accurately as possible is critical to keeping
the discovery effort cost-effective." To
achieve these ends, the Attenex Patterns E-Discovery
Platform includes functions for acquiring and,
"fingerprinting" electronic documents,
culling exact and "near" duplicate files,
and preparing content for review by attorneys. |
Because
dtSearch was so widely accepted in the legal
community, it was a natural fit for Attenex
Patterns.

Attenex
provides a means for reviewing attorneys to quickly
organize, display, search and mark the documents
within a document collection. To increase user
productivity, Attenex Patterns generates a visual
map of the document corpus based on the concepts
contained in the individual documents. Once a
document or a cluster of documents is identified,
the user can "recluster" the map around
the identified document or document cluster to
hone in on specific responsive or privileged content.
The result is a more confident review process
with better results.
For
full-text searching of a document collection throughout
the various Attenex Patterns E-Discovery Platform
level, Attenex chose the dtSearch Text Retrieval
Engine. “We evaluated several options, and
the consistent feedback from the law firms, forensics
consultants and general counsels we spoke with
was that dtSearch was the best tool for the job. Because dtSearch was so widely
accepted in the legal community, it was a natural
fit for Attenex Patterns.”
The
Attenex Patterns’ database tracks each interaction,
disposition and designation of every file. The
full document set, or any subset of reviewed files,
can be segmented based on any pre-determined criteria,
including file metadata review markings such as
“responsive” or “privileged.” Files can be produced based in their native format,
or files and the metadata can be exported to XML
for importing into trial preparation software.
