to network and connect. Its Website, 24Sevenonline.com,
is the first and only Internet based community
devoted exclusively to the fashion industry. The
site already included interactive tools to find
the best talent within the fashion industry. The
one thing that the site needed, however, was a
new search engine.
"24 Seven online had a candidate database in SQL
for candidates to come to the site and fill out
their prospective information, and separately
upload a resume to the site's server," explained
Alex Koludrovic, Vice President, Hosting Operations
at ATS. "The resumes could be in any format, from
PDF to MS Word documents. We needed a solution
that would allow for full-text searching of the
resumes, as well as looking up specific fields
in a database table."

To meet 24 Seven’s needs, ATS
came through with a custom installation of the
dtSearch Text Retrieval Engine. "We programmed
the site in ASP to hook up to 24 Seven’s
SQL backend and mimic the current look & feel
of the site," said Mr. Koludrovic. "We
used dtSearch’s basic document searching
features, as well as more advanced search features
like fuzzy, stemming, synonym, and phonic searching."
Added Mr. Koludrovic: "Building on top of
