Now a CloudNine product, LAW provides document capture, image processing and data export into a variety of litigation support applications.  Multiple LAW customers further requested that LAW embed full-service text search and retrieval functionality.

“We chose dtSearch because of its ability to simultaneously query textual content and databases. “We also liked dtSearch's advanced search options such as phonic, stemming and fuzzy searching.” With regard to fuzzy searching: “Some customers seem to have the belief that if they perform OCR on their images, all the information will be read, indexed and easily found. Unfortunately, this is not the case. Even the best OCR engines are not perfect. Broken letters, multiple generations of copies, handwriting and many other variables can contribute to OCR mistakes.” Adjustable from 0 to 10, dtSearch's fuzzy searching was ideally suited to handling potential OCR errors.
