In addition to its enterprise products, dtSearch offers developer solutions including multiplatform APIs. dtSearch does not, however, do custom development work. The Contegra team has undertaken many high-level custom development projects for the dtSearch Engine customer base. Contegra adds “autosuggest search assistant” and “find related” options to its Kaleido faceted search interface built for the dtSearch Engine API.
The new “autosuggest search assistant” option lets the end-user hone in on key concepts while entering a search request. For example, type pol in the 400,000 news articles in the Kaleido online demo at kaleidosearch.com/hldemo, and the suggestion box offers 14 topic suggestions, ranging from foreign policy to polar regions. The new “find related” option lets users enter up to 1,000 words of text, display a conceptual word cloud and find similar documents. “We then invoke the dtSearch Engine to query for similar documents across the data set.”
Kaleidosearch adds “out of the box” faceted search to a dtSearch Engine installation.

Contegra Systems offers new server-side PDF hit-highlighting solution.
Solution summary: current versions of Adobe Reader do not include an option for highlighting search terms in PDFs. dtSearch offers a no-charge plug-in to re-add this functionality. However, the plug-in requires separate installation for each end-user. As an alternative to the dtSearch plug-in, Contegra Systems has created a “server-side only install” PDF hit-highlighting solution, bypassing the need to have each end-user separately install software to re-add hit highlights back to PDFs. “Contegra’s server-side solution works directly with dtSearch indexes as well as dtSearch’s extensive query language and syntax. dtSearch developer customers can easily integrate our hit-highlighting server-side solution into their existing applications.”
Contegra adapts PDF hit-highlighting solution to dtSearch Publish.
In this offline version of Contegra's PDF hit-highlighting solution, search terms are also highlighted automatically in PDF documents without the need for a separate plug-in.
Near Duplication Detection component available integrating the dtSearch Engine.
ImageMAKER will now market its Near Duplication Detection as a separate component integrating the dtSearch Engine document filters and searching. Features of Near Duplication Detection include the ability to sequentially link multiple document versions as well as the capacity to output percentage similarity between similar documents. Using the dtSearch Engine document filters along with ImageMAKER’s own technology, Near Duplication Detection can even detect the similarity of files that are fully nested in other documents. For example, Near Duplication Detection might find 87% of Document A contained in Document B, and 93% of Document B contained in Document C. Near Duplication Detection also includes a visual comparison tool that outputs HTML formatted documents, and can highlight phrase differences in different colors for easy review. The visual comparison works both locally or in shared web based environments to allow end-users to seamlessly compare documents. “As a standalone product, Near Duplicate Detection will rely on the dtSearch Engine’s robust and extremely fast search speed to provide outstanding response times in identifying close file matches across terabytes of data.”

This dtSearch UK add-on extends the reach of dtSearch’s “off the shelf” terabyte indexer as included in dtSearch Desktop/Network/Web.Windows products to enable SQL indexing. with no programming required. The SQL data can be local or remote, including on Azure or AWS. After indexing, dtSearch’s existing “off the shelf” products can search across the entire SQL database, or just across specific SQL metadata fields.
SharePoint Online Add-On
This dtSearch UK add-on extends the reach of dtSearch’s “off the shelf” terabyte indexer as included in dtSearch Desktop/Network/Web to enable indexing of SharePoint Online data, with no programming required. The product supports indexing of SharePoint Online lists and documents as well as OneNote accounts (individual or in SharePoint Groups or Sites) in Microsoft 365.
WordPress Add-On
dtSearch UK provides a fully managed hosted dtSearch Engine SaaS installation to power its WordPress site search plugin. (No programming required.)
